Helmet Registry's Mission is to foster the growth of vintage football helmet collecting by creating:
1. A helmet classification system to help categorize different helmet styles; 2. A standardized grading protocol that can be used to evaluate a helmet's condition relative to its original new stock condition and to compare it with other similar examples; 3. A helmet condition report to assist in authentication, valuation, and recovery in case of loss or theft; 4. A database of vintage football helmets as a resource for collectors seeking to better understand the relative scale of the surviving population.
Helmet Registry's scientific approach to grading vintage football is a standardized and repeatable method to determine a helmet's condition relative to its original new stock condition. Condition is but one of many factors used in determining the monetary value of a vintage helmet, including age, rarity, aesthetic appeal, historical provenance, and collector preferences.
I'd appreciate as much feedback as you are willing to share on the grading protocol and database, and any questions or concerns you may have with its use and application.

So I have an old helmet I've kept for a while after my father passed that I know he had for some time, I need some information on it if possible and it also holds a signature on the side of anyone can depict. It's a yellow and blue colts helmet from when they were Baltimore Colts instead of Indianapolis. The signature on the side is numbered 19 I believe. I need some age and history on this item of possible. Is there any way to attach a photo?
